tiananmen square

i had decided to stay back at the hotel while the guys went to the conference. i am sure they liked that lol. anyhow, i figured they need to do the business thing and i didn't want to be in the way so i lounged about in our great room and ate room service and watched movies. i was a bit afraid to go out by myself because i didn't really know where to go. i really didn't mind the peace and quiet, i miss the kids a ton already and it's only been a couple of days. how odd is that?

begging to have some time alone and i am sitting here thinking about them constantly lol. hope my mother in law is handling it ok. my daughter is with her so it should not be too much. anyhow, today we got to quickly go see tienamen square. i didn't even realize that this was where we were. it was really cool. they were actually taking us to the forbidden city but we sorta got there to late. traffic is yucky in beijing. i wish i would have taken a picture of the bicycle lane.

i thought was neat. they had like a full size lane for the bikes. and yeah, they stopped at the red lights too. while we were walking we all noticed a sign. we started laughing because well, you will see lol.

i guess you may be able to see the humor with the sign. it was as if they were telling you to just park someplace else if you have this in mind lol. i love this sign :o) we all had a good laugh.

this i believe they told me is an opera house. but first before i show you a bigger picture of it i just wanted to share this sunset pic. it was really cloudy like outside so it's a foggy looking picture. that water you see there, your not allowed to touch it, there was a guard there
and he actually had to stop a girl from touching it WOW!

when it started to become more dark, these little bitty lights were lighting up slowly on this dome.

just me posing near the big dome.

this was some type of government building.

entrance to the Forbidden City with a soldier at the front. all of the people in the backgroun were getting ready to leave as they were closing the city. come to find out this day China was launching a lunar orbiter. this is a major event and it was cool to be down there for it.

here is a link for it: China Launches Lunar Orbiter

in this picture, after we were ushered out of the central area in front of the forbidden city, you can see some soldiers. i am kinda short so i did the best i could to snap a shot.

well, i am beat! i will put another entry later with some other pictures i took in front of the forbidden city.
