He is so comical, a sure joy and just does things you would be amazed by. Well, if you are a parent reading this then I doubt he is doing anything you have not seen before lol. ;
^It's 5am right now and I know that the infamous Cartoon Network will soon be blaring in my house and I will have endure some amazing cartoons. I will be glad when I get back to the states so that I can pick up the nice educational videos that I have been purchasing over the year for their viewing pleasure.
I really try not to let them watch to much television but sometimes it is unavoidable. I know, bad parenting. I give in. I am such a big sucker when it comes to them. I just can't seem to balance it. It is a little difficult because daddy has to work in another country for the time being and it just makes the load bigger for me. I truly felt that being in the military was a lot easier than being a stay at home mommy. ;
% I was thinking about the cartoons that they watch and I was comparing it to how it was when I was a kid. Don't all parents do that? Lol. Well I came upon this conclusion that definitely the cartoons of my time were more beneficial than the ones they have today.
I would venture a guess that it is actually the way they present the topics in the cartoons. Some cartoons are a no no and can not be watched because the characters are just so so naughty. But I must say that there are a few that I find nice and cute and absolutely funny. }
& Gone are the days of School House Rock and the Conjunction Junction, Interjection and the like. I miss the sound of Saturday Morning Cartoons. I mean we used to so look forward to Saturday Mornings with out bowl of cereal. We would actually get to eat sometimes in the living room and watch them.
I also remember, when I was in elementary school, rushing home after school so I wouldn't miss Batman and Robin (I loved the episodes when he fought the Penguin) and my brothers loved catching Transformers More than meets the eyeeeee. LOL. Oh wow…how many years have passed and how much older I am getting. {
]We used to watch Wonder Woman also and now whenever I get the opprotunity to catch a re-run, I just laugh to myself because I thought it was like the coolest show ever. Have you seen the acting in that show? I mean really? But I loved it.
Even the television shows for kids now a days seem so different. Most of course have that ficticous lifestyle that only "rich" people have and I feel these shows are all about what clothes the kids are wearing etc. I also wonder if kids really even do half the things they portray in these shows since my daughter told me, "Ma, kids really are like this now a days." Hmmmm..really? _
/ I look at the shows and am amazed at how fast the lifestyle is in the shows and hope that I can protect my little guys from that. I really am happy that I have children with imaginations and they have the ability to "play on their own" versus having to be entertained in some way.
I feel a sense of hope when I see my two young ones playing and the type of playing that they do. My older child…a teen… just has always needed something or someone to entertain her. Go figure. All from the same family but each different in their own right. ^
It's amazing what silence in a household brings. I am actually able to write something without stretching or reaching in order to come up with just a paragraph. I had better go. I wanna play a game before my lovelies wake up.
